A Lip Seal, also known as a Radial Lip Seal or Shaft Seal, is used to prevent the leakage of fluids or contaminants between two mating surfaces, usually a rotating shaft and a stationary housing withstanding the elevated temperature and pressure of the hydraulic fluid. It consists of a flexible lip that extends radially inward or outward from a metal case or housing. The lip comes into contact with the shaft, creating a dynamic sealing interface.
