A piston washer is a pivotal part of the rotating pump of a hydraulic system, also known as piston rings or seals, and is designed to prevent fluid from leaking past the piston in the pump. A washer is a spherical piece of metal or plastic with a hole in the center that is used to distribute the load of a fastener, such as a bolt or a screw. A washer can also be used as a spacer to adjust the distance between two objects or surfaces.
