The Cup Plug is attached to the ball stud in the steering cylinder unit, and used to fit snugly into the ball stud to prevent any dirt, debris, or moisture from entering the steering cylinder unit and also prevent damage to the ball stud and the steering cylinder unit. It can be temporarily removed to access the interior of the steering cylinder unit, facilitating diagnostic procedures or inspections.
