A Lip Seal is used in a Crankshaft near the damper. When the Crankshaft rotates, the Lip Type Seal creates a dynamic Seal between the shaft and the housing. The Sealing Lip flexes and conforms to the shaft surface, creating a tight Seal that prevents oil from leaking out of the engine. The Spring ensures that the Sealing Lip maintains contact with the shaft surface, even as the shaft moves up and down due to engine vibrations.
Attributes:
• Withstands maximum and normal shaft speeds of 2000 rpm and 1340 rpm
• Withstands maximum and normal oil operating temperatures of 250 °F and 220 °F
Applications:
A Lip Seal is used to create a secure and tight seal around the engine crankshaft, effectively preventing oil leakage and maintaining the necessary lubrication for the engine components. It also prevents the entry of contaminants, ensuring the cleanliness and efficiency of the crankshaft.
