A Compression spring come in a variety of strengths and sizes to fit specific applications. Compression springs are helical designed springs for compression and tension whereby the spring gets compressed (shorter) as more weight is applied. One of the biggest benefits of compression springs is the ability to resist the movement of another component. They are open-coil helical springs wound or constructed to oppose compression along the axis of wind.
