A Sprag Clutch, also known as a one-way clutch or freewheel clutch, is used to transmit torque in one direction while allowing free rotation in the opposite direction. It consists of a series of sprags or roller ramps that engage with a raceway when torque is applied in the designated direction, providing a solid connection. However, when the applied torque tries to move in the opposite direction, the sprags disengage, allowing for free rotation.
