The Camshaft Drive Shaft controls the timing and sequence of valve operation in an inline engine. It is responsible for opening and closing the intake and exhaust valves at precise intervals, allowing for the intake of air-fuel mixture and the release of exhaust gases. It is driven by the engine's crankshaft and operates at half the speed of the crankshaft. As the crankshaft rotates, it transfers rotational energy to the camshaft drive shaft through a timing belt or chain.
