640-5265: Wheel Rim

Cat® Front Wheel Rim is a cylindrical wheel outer edge holding the tire on the wheel and to provide a solid base to mount your tires. They are the connection between the hub & the tire. The tire is installed on the rim, & the rim is bolted to the hub. Main function of the Cat® Rim is supporting and sealing the tire to the wheel and makes a difference in friction reduction and handling as well as gas mileage. The Rim ensures proper fitting between tire and retaining the air inside the tire. The Rims are made of strong metal such as steel to withstand the force and load of the Cat® machine. The width & diameter of the rim determines the size of a tire. Cat® Wheel Rim can operate in heavy-duty applications such as severe vibration, shock, extreme operating temperature ranges, thermal cycle, thermal shock, humidity, corrosion and excessive dust. They are manufactured for long service life, minimal maintenance and high operational reliability.
