The Engine Thermostat is a valve that regulates the temperature of the air-fuel mixture entering the engine. It does this by opening and closing a passage that allows coolant to flow over the intake manifold. When the engine is cold, the thermostat is closed, which allows the coolant to heat the intake manifold and the air-fuel mixture. As the engine warms up, the thermostat opens, which allows the coolant to flow away from the intake manifold and cool the air-fuel mixture.

Applications:
