The Crankshaft Reluctor Wheel also known as a tone wheel, is mounted on the crankshaft of an internal combustion engine. It features a series of precisely spaced teeth or notches that are used to generate signals for the Engine Control Unit (ECU). As the crankshaft rotates, the reluctor wheel's teeth pass by a sensor, producing a signal that is utilized for ignition timing, fuel injection, and engine speed calculations.
