609-2196: Engine Glow Wire

An Engine Glow Wire connects directly to the battery of the equipment. When the engine is cold, the glow plugs require additional heat to aid combustion. The glow wire supplies power to the glow plugs, heating them to facilitate easier starting of the engine, particularly in cold weather conditions. Once the engine is running and sufficiently warmed up, the glow plugs are no longer needed, and the glow wire ceases to supply power to them.
