The Linear Position Sensor is a part that measures the distance between a part and a point of reference in a straight line. It is used in steering cylinders. When the steering units are engaged, the piston within the steering cylinder moves. This movement is detected by the linear position sensor, which then produces an electrical signal proportional to the piston's displacement. This signal is sent to a control unit, which can interpret the data to determine the steering angle.
