An Alternator Rotor is a cylindrical component mounted on the alternator shaft. It is made of iron or steel and houses copper windings. These windings are connected to slip rings, which provide electrical contact with stationary brushes. When the rotor spins, driven by the engine's crankshaft, the magnetic field generated by the windings interacts with the stator windings, inducing an Alternating Current (AC) voltage. This AC voltage is then converted to Direct Current (DC) by the rectifier assembly to charge the machine's battery.
