An Air Intake Tube is fitted with the turbocharger with the help of clamps, to transfer gases between components and provide a leak-free seal. It is a bent tube that connects the turbocharger to the crankcase breather lines. Its primary function is to channel air into the turbocharger and the crankcase breather unit. It has an optimum size that allows more air to flow through the tube without reducing the velocity of the flow.
Attributes:
• Provides excellent thermal insulation properties, resistance to thermal expansion, and high mechanical strength at elevated temperatures
• Provided with a maximum mass allowance of 230mg/m² which specifies the acceptable level of particulate matter that can be present in the air passing through the intake tube
• Helps regulate the pressure within the crankcase and prevents the buildup of harmful gases
Applications:
An Air Intake Tube is used to provide a means for transferring and directing air into the turbocharger, facilitating the connection between the turbocharger and the crankcase breather lines to enable efficient operation.
