The Governor Pedal Controls the compressor by putting it into either the load phase or the unloading phase. In the load phase, the compressor pumps air into the air brake system, while in the unloading phase, it releases air into the atmosphere. The governor is responsible for regulating the operation of the compressor, which runs continuously while the vehicle's engine is running.

Applications:
The Governor Pedal Controls can be compared to a thermostat on a furnace. Just like a thermostat turns the furnace on when the temperature drops below a certain level and turns it off when the temperature reaches a maximum, the governor controls the compressor based on the pressure levels in the air brake system.
