The Crankcase Breather Pipe, also known as the PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) pipe or the engine breather hose, is a component in the engine's ventilation and emission control system. The crankcase breather pipe connects the engine's crankcase to the intake system or the atmosphere, allowing the ventilation of gases and vapors that accumulate in the crankcase.
Attributes:
• Helps to maintain a slight negative pressure in the crankcase
• Prevents the leakage of oil and the release of harmful combustion by-products into the environment
• Provide flexibility and resistance to kinking or collapsing
Applications:
The Crankcase Breather Pipe is used as a route for the recycling of these gases and vapors back into the engine's intake system, where they can be re-burned and reduce overall emissions.
