A Hydraulic Cylinder Ring which is mounted on the piston separates a hydraulic cylinder into an extended side volume and a retracted side volume and helps maintain the hydraulic pressure in the cylinder without any leakage. The piston contains machined grooves for wear rings that ride on the inside surface of the cylinder assembly to prevent damage and scoring of the piston or cylinder assembly. The piston may also act as a stop to limit the motion of the linkage in either direction.

Application:
A Hydraulic Cylinder Ring is used to prevent any hydraulic oil leaks from the pressurized hydraulic cylinder and to prevent damage and scoring of the piston or cylinder assembly. It is mounted on the hydraulic piston which is part of a mechanical actuator that is used to provide a force in one of two directions, along a limited-length linear path.
