507-0037: 1.5 Liter Engine

REQUIRED For Replacement labeled Engines, Long Blocks, and short blocks sold within the U.S. and U.S. Territories the engine core (i.e. old engine) that is removed MUST be returned to your selling Caterpillar dealer, so that they can return to Caterpillar  OR  destroy, as required by law. Proof of return or destruction will then be provided to the EPA and or California ARB if required. See PELJ1301 for additional details.

An Engine is responsible for converting thermal energy derived from the combustion of fuel into mechanical work. It works on the principle of transforming chemical energy stored in a fuel-air mixture into kinetic energy using controlled explosions within the enclosed cylinders. The Internal combustion engine operates on a four-stroke cycle called intake, compression, combustion, and exhaust. This Cycle is repeated continually to produce a sustained mechanical output.

Attributes:
• Capable of Producing a power output of 16.2 KW at 1800 Rpm
• Naturally Aspirated induction type helps to improve combustion efficiency by relying solely on the natural airflow

Applications:
An Engine is used to generate power to drive the drivetrain of the machine and the hydraulic components associated with the machine.
