Compression springs come in a variety of strengths and sizes to fit specific applications. Compression springs are helical designed springs for compression and tension whereby the spring gets compressed (shorter) as more weight is applied. As two-component try to push towards each other, compressions spring will compress. In turn, this will store mechanical energy, which is then pushed back out to the components. They are open-coil helical springs wound or constructed to oppose compression along the axis of wind. These coil springs can work independently, though often assembled over a guide rod or fitted inside a hole.
