A Selective Catalytic Reduction Catalyst reduces Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) emissions in diesel engines by facilitating a chemical reaction between NOx and a reducing agent, urea-based Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), converting them into nitrogen and water. It consists of a substrate material, often ceramic or metal, coated with a zeolite-based catalyst compound. The catalyst provides a large surface area for the catalytic reactions to occur, promoting the reduction of NOx emissions.
Attributes:
• Lower NOx emissions contribute to improved air quality, reducing pollution and its associated health risks
• Allows engines to be tuned for better performance without compromising emissions control, improving fuel efficiency
Applications:
A Selective Catalytic Reduction Catalyst is highly effective in reducing nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions, helping diesel engines meet stringent emission regulations. It reacts with NOx, converting them into harmless nitrogen (N2) and water (H2O).
