A Tapered Roller Bearings are made to support a load while reducing friction, just like ball bearings. It is to transmit loads using cylinder rolling elements to maintain the separation between moving parts of the bearing. It also reduces energy consumption as sliding motion is replaced with low-friction rolling. It is to support both radial and axial loads. It consists of an inner ring, an outer ring, tapered rollers, and a cage that holds the rollers in place.
Attributes:
• Provided with linear contact areas with outer rings to distribute loads on the larger surface area
• Manufactured to precise specifications and are built for durability, and reliability
Applications:
A Tapered Roller Bearing is used in the differential housing part of the drive axle to prevent direct metal-to-metal contact between two elements that are in relative motion. This prevents friction, heat generation, and the wear and tear of parts.
