A Coned Disc Spring is a conically shaped washer that exerts a spring force when compressed. This shape allows the spring to store a significant amount of energy in a smaller axial space compared to a flat disc spring. Coned disc springs are used for applications requiring high preload and resilience, particularly in space-constrained environments.

Applications:
A Coned Disc Spring offers significantly higher preload compared to flat disc springs. When an axial force is applied to the coned disc spring, the conical shape causes the material to deform and store energy. This deformation increases the spring's contact area, further enhancing its load-bearing capacity. As the force is released, the spring's inherent elasticity allows it to return to its original shape, releasing the stored energy and providing a restoring force.
