An external retaining ring also known as an external snap ring or a circlip sits in the grooves on the exterior of shafts of theie respective size. The areas of the ring that protrude out from the shaft hold it in place. An external ring retaining is a component in the armrest in the assembly of the seat to give support to the washer attached to the spring that is placed in the assembly of the mount that is attached to the frame.
