A Planetary Transmission, also known as epicyclic transmission, consists of three main components sun gear, planet gears, and ring gear. The sun gear is located at the center and is driven by an input shaft. The planet gears, evenly spaced around the sun gear, are connected to a carrier that rotates around the sun gear. The direction of motion is determined by the arrangement of the gears. In a Planetary transmission, one component is held stationary to engage forward or reverse, while a neutral position involves disengaging all gears.
