A Rocker Switch consists of a plastic housing, a spring-loaded rocker mechanism, and electrical contacts within the housing. The rocker sits on a pivot point and connects to the internal contacts. Pushing the rocker in one direction completes the circuit while pushing it in the opposite direction breaks the circuit. Many rocker switches feature markings or symbols on the rocker itself to indicate the function of each position.

Applications:
A Rocker Switch allows the operator to switch the wiper on and off as needed, adjusting the speed to match the intensity of the precipitation. Pressing the "On" position sends an electrical signal to the rear wiper motor. The motor activates, driving the wiper blade across the windshield in a sweeping motion.
