A Radiator Aftercooler, also known as an intercooler, is a device used to cool the compressed air before it enters the engine's intake manifold. The two-stage aftercooler works by passing the compressed air through a series of tubes or fins, which are cooled by water in two separate stages of cooling. This cooling process helps to reduce the temperature of the compressed air, increasing its density and allowing for more oxygen to be packed into the combustion chamber. It is located between the turbocharger and the engine's intake manifold.
Attributes:
• Provided with 36 holes to attach the two core assemblies using 3/8" fasteners
• Designed to withstand high temperatures and high water pressures of up to 354kPa
Applications:
A Radiator Aftercooler is used to optimize the performance and efficiency of turbocharged Engines by cooling the compressed air and increasing its density before it enters the combustion chamber.
