A Straight Sleeve Bearing is a sliding contact bearing in which the surface of the shaft slides over the surface of the bush. It consists of a cylindrical sleeve with a smooth inner surface that allows a shaft to rotate inside it with minimal friction. The oil grooves are cut into the plain bearing surfaces to assist in the distribution of the oil between the rubbing surfaces.

Attributes:
• Designed to minimize friction between the shaft and the bearing surface
• Provided with Steel backing of 0.95mm (maximum)
• Provided with 2 and 1 oil holes of size 7.5mm and 3mm each
• Possesses high shock load resistance, minimize vibration (and therefore noise)

Applications:
A Straight Sleeve Bearing is suitable for applications where press fitting into a housing bore is the most practical bearing retention method. These are used in crankshaft bearings in petrol and diesel engines, centrifugal pumps and large size electric motors.
