A Lip-Type Seal consists of a metal ring as the inner skeleton which provides structural stability to the oil Seal. It is designed to provide a tight seal against the drum shaft and cone bearing. The spring on the lip of the oil seal provides support to the lip and prevents the lubricant from leaking outside and also prevents contaminants from entering.the dust lip works to protect the sealing lip while blocking dust and dirt from entering the bearing Support.

Applications:
A Lip-Type Seal is used to prevent the ingress of contaminants from the interface between the carrier bearing and a shaft on a Winch Drive Shaft, mostly used in Cat® D250B, D250D, D250E, D300B, D300D, D300E, D35-HP, D350C, D350D, D350E, D35C, D400, D400D, D400E and D40D Articulated Truck.
