The Shim is positioned between the retainer and the cylinder head of a hydraulic cylinder to facilitate the proper functioning and alignment of the cylinder assembly. It features a hole to allow the movement of the piston, enabling the hydraulic cylinder to operate effectively. By doing so, it ensures that the piston can move freely within the cylinder while maintaining the necessary spacing and alignment between the retainer and the cylinder head.
