A Lip-Type Seal consists of a metal ring as the inner skeleton which provides structural stability to the oil Seal. It is designed to provide a tight seal against the drum shaft and bearing. The spring on the lip of the oil seal provides support to the lip and prevents the lubricant from leaking outside and also prevents contaminants from entering.
