The Swash Plate is used in piston motors, such as axial piston hydraulic motors. It is a tilted plate that is connected to the drive shaft and functions as a movable surface to convert rotational motion into reciprocating motion of the pistons. As the drive shaft rotates, the swash plate angle is adjusted, causing the pistons to move in and out of their cylinders, thereby creating pressure differentials and enabling fluid flow, which powers the motor's mechanical output. The swash plate's design and movement play a key role in controlling the motor's speed and direction.
