A Jacket Water Radiator is used in the cooling unit of an internal combustion engine. It dissipates the heat generated by the engine during operation. The term "jacket water" refers to the water that circulates through the water jacket surrounding the engine cylinders and cylinder head to absorb heat. It consists of a series of tubes or passages through which the hot water from the engine's cooling system flows. Also, a charge air cooler or intercooler is used to cool down the compressed air (charge air) that is delivered to the engine's intake manifold before it enters the combustion chambers.
Attributes:
• Prevents Engine overheating
• Allows for precise temperature adjustments
Applications:
A Jacket Water Radiator is used to efficiently dissipate the heat generated by the engine and also to maintain the optimal operating temperature of the engine. As the hot water passes through these tubes, heat is transferred to the surrounding air, which is drawn through the radiator by a fan. This process causes the temperature of the water to decrease, allowing it to be recirculated back into the engine to continue the cooling cycle.
