A Circuit Breaker is responsible for providing short-circuit protection. In the event of a short circuit, where a fault causes a sudden surge of current, the circuit breaker rapidly opens the circuit to prevent further damage. By interrupting the flow of current, the circuit breaker isolates the fault and protects the wiring and personnel from the potentially hazardous effects of a short circuit.

Applications:
A Circuit Breaker protects electrical circuits from overcurrent conditions. It continuously monitors the current flowing through the circuit and, if the current exceeds the rated limit, the circuit breaker trips to open the circuit and interrupt the flow of electricity.
