A Compression Spring is to resist compression or axial loads in an assembly. It keeps the piston assembly closed while allowing it to open when needed, ensuring the proper functioning of the piston. It has a helical shape, consisting of tightly wound coils with gaps in between. This construction allows the spring to compress and expand under axial loading, exerting a force that opposes the compression.
Attributes:
• Stores potential energy when it is compressed and releases that energy when it returns to its original shape
• Provided with total coils of 13.5 to withstand high forces and temperatures encountered in the assembly
Applications:
A Compression Spring is used in the direct drive transmission housing to exert a force that opposes the compression applied to them, providing the necessary restoring force for the piston to ensure proper operation of the oil pump.
