REQUIRED For Replacement labeled Engines, Long Blocks, and short blocks sold within the U.S. and U.S. Territories the engine core (i.e. old engine) that is removed MUST be returned to your selling Caterpillar dealer, so that they can return to Caterpillar  OR  destroy, as required by law. Proof of return or destruction will then be provided to the EPA and or California ARB if required. See PELJ1301 for additional details.

Description:
Cat Reman long blocks such as part # 20R-2450 are an assembled block, crankshaft, cylinder packs, cylinder head, camshaft, valve mechanism, front housing and lifting eyes. Cat Reman long blocks are disassembled, thoroughly flushed to meet rigid cleanliness standards, and inspected for cracks, erosion, or other damage. Block top decks and cylinder head bottom decks are resurfaced to original specifications. Crankshafts are reground, polished, and checked for lift endplay. All bearings, seals, gaskets and piston rings are replaced with new Cat parts. Long blocks are tested electronically for consistent quality and long life.
