REQUIRED For Replacement labeled Engines, Long Blocks, and short blocks sold within the U.S. and U.S. Territories the engine core (i.e. old engine) that is removed MUST be returned to your selling Caterpillar dealer, so that they can return to Caterpillar  OR  destroy, as required by law. Proof of return or destruction will then be provided to the EPA and or California ARB if required. See PELJ1301 for additional details.

The Cylinder Block is a key part of an internal combustion engine. It is a large, sturdy, and typically cast metal structure that houses the Cylinders, crankshaft, pistons, and other essential components of the engine. The number of Cylinders used is six. The Cylinder Block contains the cylinders, which are cylindrical bores that accommodate the reciprocating motion of the pistons. The Block provides attachment parts like a Crankshaft Bearing Cap, Bearing, and Hard Washer.
