The Gear Pump Drive Shaft transfers the rotational motion from the engine to the impeller. The impeller is required for drawing in and accelerating the transmission fluid, creating a hydraulic force that drives the transmission unit. As the engine rotates, the torque converter gear pump drive shaft spins at the same speed, transferring the power to the impeller. The impeller, in turn, transfers the energy to the turbine, which is connected to the transmission input shaft.
