The Torque Converter Impeller is designed to facilitate the transfer of power from the engine to the transmission, allowing for smooth and efficient operation of the transmission. The impeller is a part of the torque converter's fluid coupling mechanism in the torque multiplication process. It is a bladed disc that is connected to the engine's crankshaft. As the engine rotates, the impeller spins within the torque converter housing. It draws transmission fluid into the converter and imparts kinetic energy to the fluid through its blades. This fluid, now in a high-velocity state, is directed toward the turbine, initiating the torque multiplication process.
Attributes:
• Has Brinell hardness of 70.
• Optimized design for efficient fluid flow and energy transfer.
• Initiates the torque multiplication process in the torque converter.
Applications:
The Torque Converter Impeller is positioned inside the torque converter housing, which is attached to the engine's crankshaft. It operates in conjunction with the turbine and stator within the torque converter, creating a fluid coupling that facilitates the transfer of power from the engine to the transmission.
