A Compression Spring is used to engage and disengage the power transmission between the engine and the driven equipment. When the clutch is engaged, the compression spring is compressed, exerting force on the clutch plates or friction discs, allowing them to engage and transmit power. When the clutch is disengaged, the spring expands, releasing the force and allowing the clutch plates to separate, interrupting the power transmission.
