A Transmission Planetary Compression Spring is used to enable the controlled movement and locking of the planetary gears within the transmission. It is positioned within the rotation housing of the transmission planetary and located between the planetary gear carrier and the rotation housing, securing and controlling the movement of the planetary gears.
Attributes:
• Provided with total coils of 12.5 and active coils of 10.5 as right-hand wound helical coil that helps to maintain the shape and stability
• Provided a spring rate of 386 lb/in to store and release the mechanical energy needed for the planetary gear housing
Applications:
A Transmission Planetary Compression Spring acts as a locking mechanism for the planetary gears. When torque is applied in the opposite direction, the spring expands and engages with the rotation housing, preventing the gears from rotating freely.
