The Differential Spider, also known as a differential gear carrier or differential cage, is a central component within the Differential. The Differential Spider typically consists of a set of bevel gears mounted on a spider-shaped carrier. The bevel gears mesh with the ring gear, which is connected to the drive shaft, and the spider carrier also supports the pinion gears that mesh with the side gears connected to the axle shafts. This arrangement allows torque to be transferred from the ring gear to the side gears and then to the wheels.
