The Charging Alternator Regulator is designed to monitor the voltage level of the electrical system. If the voltage drops below a certain threshold, indicating that the battery requires charging, the regulator increases the field current supplied to the alternator. This causes the alternator to produce more electrical power and when voltage exceeds a predetermined level, the regulator reduces the field current to prevent overcharging.
